What is integrative Medicine?
Integrative medicine is a holistic approach that combines conventional Western
medicine with evidence-based complementary therapies. It treats the whole
person- mind, body, and spirit- rather than just focusing on the symptoms or
disease.
How is Integrative Medicine different from Functional
Medicine?
While both approaches emphasize root cause healing and patient
centered care, integrative medicine combines various healing traditions,
including lifestyle changes, supplements, identifying root causes, and still using
medications when necessary. Functional Medicine focuses more specifically on
identifying and addressing the root causes of chronic conditions without the use of
medications or conventional diagnostic testing.
What Approach does Abundant Integrative Medicine Use?
At Abundant Integrative Medicine, we believe in the value of both
conventional and complementary approaches. While we are trained in functional
medicine and the majority of our treatment focuses on root- causes and lifestyle
changes, there are times (especially for the thyroid) where medication use is
necessary and life-saving. Integrative medicine uses the best of both worlds-
prescriptions or diagnostics when necessary, and natural or lifestyle- based
options when appropriate.
What Can I Expect During a First Consultation?
Your initial consultation will include:
A comprehensive health history
A deep dive into your symptoms and goals
Review of previous labs (if available)
Recommendations for additional functional labs (if needed)
A personalized care plan that includes nutrition, supplements, stress
management, and more
Do You Offer Lab Testing?
Yes! We offer access to functional lab testing that includes hormone panels, GI
testing, micronutrient analysis, inflammation markers, comprehensive thyroid
testing, and more. These labs provide a deeper look at how your body is
functioning on a root- cause level.
Are Integrative Medicine Visits Covered by Insurance?
Unfortunately, the answer is no. However, you may be able to use your insurance
for lab work, ultrasounds, medications, etc.
How Long Does it Take to See Results?
Everyone is different. Some people feel better within a few weeks, while others
may take longer depending on the complexity of their condition and how long
they have been dealing with it. Healing is a journey, not a quick fix- but it's one that
leads to sustainable wellness and we are here to take the journey with you!
Do You Work With Clients Remotely?
Yes! We currently offer virtual appointments to clients located in Arizona and Utah.
All sessions are conducted via a secure telehealth platform. We also have limited
in-person appointments available in Glendale, AZ
Who is Integrative Medicine For?
Integrative medicine is ideal for those who:
feel frustrated with conventional care
are seeing a more holistic and personalized approach
want to understand the why behind their symptoms
value prevention and long-term health
are ready to be active participants in their healing
